These are the four things we refused to compromise on when we started Storm Developments, and the four things we will not compromise on as we grow.
Running on AWS or Google Cloud means standing up a team that earns certifications just to operate your own infrastructure. A solo builder or a small startup cannot clear that bar. Storm refuses it.
Storm Buckets is turnkey: it works out of the box, without a months-long learning path. And it stays transparent, no black box, no complexity you cannot reason about. Because you can see how the system works, you can reason about how it is secured.
Our test for simplicity: if getting started takes longer than five minutes, the system is too complicated, and we fix the system, not the tutorial.
Security is designed into the architecture before a feature ships, not bolted on after something breaks. And it is not one lock: every Storm tool is defended in layers, so the failure of any single control does not hand over the system.
We are honest about the limits. We publish how our tools are secured, including a plain account of what that design does not protect against. You verify our security instead of trusting it.

We believe in Open Source. We are building something meant to last.
That means making deliberate choices about what we build and how we build it. It also means giving back to the open source projects we depend on, because sustainable infrastructure requires a sustainable ecosystem. We benefit from open source, so open source can benefit from us.
Your data belongs to you, and it belongs where you put it.
We build Canadian infrastructure for Canadians. We believe people should have real control over where their data lives, who can access it, and under what laws it is governed. That is the point, and keeping it Canadian is how we guarantee it.
